Location
I work out of my home studio in Burbank, CA, just south of the Burbank Airport.

We have a Guest House where models can stay during multi-day shoots and it is fully set up for model preparation as well.

house
It has a TV with satellite, video games and fridge that we keep stocked. It's a comfortable place for everyone to get set up and for guests to wait while we shoot.

Guests
I don't allow guests in the studio because they distract during the shoot and can make the model feel self-conscious. I need the model to focus and work with me and feel free to be herself during the shoot.

Guests are welcome to come with you to the shoot and they are welcome to wait in the model prep area. I will be happy to meet them, discuss any concerns they may have and show them around.

I will immediately cancel any shoot where I feel a guest is going to be disruptive. Choose wisely when bringing guests. Over-protective boyfriends and husbands, or a body guards are not necessary. Traumantic Studios is a professional environment and we can provide references if necessary. We are here to make great images, and nothing more.

If you feel uncomfortable in any way prior to a shoot, please say so and we can arrange an onsite or off-site meeting so you can get to know me and discuss any concerns. We want you to come here, have fun and be beautiful.

Travel
Travel arrangements will be made in advance as part of our model contract. If you have specific needs for travel they must be negotiated as part of the model contract. Anything not in the contract in advance will not be budgeted for and will not be covered by Traumantic Studios.

Your Session
We have to focus on connecting and making pictures. Don't psyche yourself out prior to your shoot, just come and have fun. I try to keep it light and fun while we work, and I believe you will enjoy the process.

I love to photograph beautiful women and try to bring out a natural quality. I don't like over processed, overdressed, over made up women, I prefer a more natural quality. We want makeup that feels natural, clothes that don't look odd on you, and amazing poses. We want the best you we can get in these shots.

Support Staff
For-hire shoots will have a makeup person on site and hair if necessary. If you are capable of doing your own makeup and prefer to do your own, let me know in advance so I do not schedule someone.

Things To Bring
If you are providing the wardrobe, bring the things that make you feel beautiful and comfortable. Pack a small bag with a lot of choices, you never know what we might use from your wardrobe. We will review the options you bring and if necessary, shop for things that enhance those outfits. We may even purchase a completely new outfit.

Things to consider, accessories. Jewelry, hats, belts, shoes and especially lingerie/undergarments. Everything has an effect in the shots. We may not intend to see undergarments, but how they look under your clothes has an effect on how you look. I had a model come in a white shirt and a black bra and nothing else to a shoot and she could not understand why I was asking her to remove her bra...it was simple, we could see it through the shirt and it ruined the pictures. Consider everything you bring carefully, and don't feel weird about bringing lots of choices. More is good.

Boundaries
I shoot everything from fully clothed to fully nude images. If this is a for-hire shoot, then you know the scope of the shots we will be doing and what will be expected of you.

On some pinup shoots or creative projects, as a shoot progresses there may be ideas that present that could involve more exposure. It is important to me to know right off the bat what your personal boundaries are. If your line is "no skin ever' I will never ask you to do anything more. If I come up with an idea for a revealing shot I will explain it to you and we will plan it out if you agree to it.

What I need to know is where the line is for you.

Legalities
We will have an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) and a Model Release to sign prior to the shoot. It will cover all the terms, conditions and usage of the images for both of us. I will send you these prior to the shoot to review. If you have any concerns about legal issues up front, please let me know.

Compensation
Meals, gas and clothing will be included too as mentioned above.

Date
We will need the better part of a day to do this. You need to be able to spend an entire day with me for this shoot. Figure 4 to 6 hours if no shopping is required. 8 if it is. So I need to know what dates you have available to do this. Weekends are preferable for me, but I can do weekdays too. So look at your calendar and tell me what works for you.

Client Testimonials

I am usually the one behind the camera, but when my girlfriend asked me to do a photoshoot with her, I was forced to find someone to take my spot. I knew about Dave from his coverage of the Annual Diabetes Walk. After seeing what he did there, I figured he would be able to get the shots we were...
